Birdwatching Hike at Fisher Farm Park

Posted on 29. Mar, 2011 by in Fisher Farm Park, WOW! Blog

Come join the World of Wonder (WOW!) for a BIRD WALK, Saturday, May 14, 8:30am to 10am, Fisher Farm Park (co-sponsor, Davidson Parks and Recreation): Rob Van Epps will be leading this event.  Rob has been a birder since the age of 8 and has travelled extensively to see birds, including all over the US and to Belize, Guatemala, Ecuador, Brazil, Kenya, Madagascar and several European countries.  He also leads a section of the annual Christmas Bird Count and he is currently working, with many others, on the Mecklenburg County Breeding Bird Atlas. This will be a great time to see migratory birds, and all ages are welcome.  We do have a limit on numbers, and registration is required through WOW! at [email protected].

Please note: No dogs and no strollers.  It is suggested that you wear sturdy shoes (no sandals) and long sleeve shirts.  If you have binoculars, remember to bring those!

Fisher Farm Park is located on the east side of Davidson off of Shearers Road.  The Davidson Lands Conservancy is the monitoring agent for this 200 acre natural park.  If you would like to become involved with helping us protect Fisher Farm Park, please contact us at 704-892-1910 or at [email protected]

WOW! is a collaboration between the Davidson Lands Conservancy and Woodlands Discovery.
