Fall Wildflowers- WOW!
Posted on 06. Oct, 2011 by Davidson Lands Conservancy in World of Wonder, WOW! Blog
The weather this week has been so lovely. I couldn’t resist walking over to Beaty St. to see up close a patch of yellow flowers. While I can’t begin to identify them all the picture above is Goldenrod. And look at the grasshoppers enjoying a golden feast! Besides an abundance of Goldenrod I also saw many yellow flowers in the large family of sunflowers and Black-eyed Susans as well as many different Asters. What looks when driving by as a yellow blur becomes a mass of many different flowers when you take the time to walk over and have a closer look. Maybe you have a patch of yellow near your house that deserves a second look and maybe you can send us a picture of what you see!
