REI recently gave the Davidson Lands Conservancy a grant to help expand the trail and add more amenities to the Lake Davidson Nature Preserve.  Now, it’s time to get to work!

Join us at the Lake Davidson Nature Preserve on November 5th for what promises to be a rewarding day in beautiful Davidson.  We’re likely to have pleasant fall temperatures and blue skies, and we’d love to have you join us.

To sign, up please register on the REI website by clicking here. You may also call the DLC at 704-892-1910 if you are not able to register online.

Here is the announcement on the REI website:

Description: Davidson Lands Conservancy is a 2011 REI’s Grant Recipient in support of the creation of the Walking Trail in Lake Davidson Nature Preserve in the town of Davidson. We have partnered with DLC to host this REI Service Day to create this new trail.  REI will provide REI Volunteer wicking shirts, water and lunch to all volunteers. Tools and direction will be provided by DLC. Please bring your own water bottle, work gloves and wear appropriate clothing and closed toe shoes to do physical work outside. Children 10 years and older are welcome to attend! Youth under 16 years of age must be accompanied by an adult. Please register for this event so that we may communicate event details and update you with any changes that may be made. Questions? Please contact Outreach Specialist, Vanessa Gorr, at 704-921-0320 or [email protected]

Thank you for supporting the Davidson Lands Conservancy!

The first work day held on October 15 was a great success.  Nearly 40 volunteers enjoyed beautiful weather and helped install 10 new benches at the Nature Preserve, in addition to improving and expanding the trails.  Below are some photos from this event.
