The 11th annual Run for Green half-marathon, 10K and 5K held in Davidson on September 17th was an unqualified success. Mother Nature blessed us with excellent weather, and over 750 runners took to the streets and greenways of Davidson.
With support from our presenting sponsor MSC Industrial Supply of Davidson, as well as Ingersoll-Rand, Omega Sports and many others, this year’s Run for Green is also shaping up to be our most financially successful run ever! Thank you so much to all of our sponsors, volunteers, runners and our race organizers.
Congratulations to our race winners: in the half-marathon, Justin King of Indian Trail took the top prize on the men’s side with a blazing 1:14:46, while Joy Miller of Ladys Island, SC paced with women with a great time of 1:25:45. For the 10K, the fastest male was James Perez of Charlotte with a time of 34:14, and Hannah Pannico of Charlotte led the way for the women with a time of 42:50. In the 5K, 17 year old Beck Classey took honors for the men with a time of 18:07, while the top female was Olivia Humphrey in a time of 21:19. Incredibly, Olivia is only 15!
