The Davidson Lands Conservancy (DLC) invites you to sample an array of North Carolina wines, beers, and hard ciders on Friday, April 29, 7:00 – 9:00 P.M. at its second annual Toast the Earth event at the Wooden Stone Gallery, 455 S. Main Street, Davidson, NC.
Toast the Earth is a fundraiser for DLC, Davidson’s own land trust whose mission is to protect natural areas and open space in and around Davidson. The wines, beers, and ciders selected are produced by area vineyards and breweries and are available locally at the Wooden Stone Gallery and Flatiron Taphouse and Kitchen in Davidson.
“This is our second Toast the Earth,” Rodney Graham, DLC vice-president, stated. “We are pleased that this year it will be held at the Wooden Stone Gallery and that the Flatiron, an outstanding new restaurant, has joined the event.”
Martha Strawn, co-chair of the benefit, said, “McRitchie Winery and Ciderworks of Thurmond, producers of Falling Water White and Ring of Fire Red, was so well-received last year that they will be back this year with wines and their unique ciders. They will be joined by Daveste´ Vineyards of Troutman where Malbec, Chambourcin, Cabernet Franc, Cabernet Sauvignon, Chardonnay, and Rkatsiteli grapes are grown.”
The Flatiron Taphouse and Kitchen will provide four beers from their “Taphouse Tower” of craft beers, including products of Highland Brewing Company of Asheville, Catawba Valley Brewing Company of Morganton, Foothills Brewing – Cottonwood Ale of Winston-Salem, and Duck Rabbit Craft Brewery of Farmville.
John Marshall Custom Homes of Davidson is sponsoring the event.
