• DLC is a 501(c)(3) non-profit local land trust serving the Town of Davidson, the Davidson extraterritorial jurisdiction and adjacent areas in Mecklenburg, Iredell and Cabarrus counties.
• The focus of our work is acquiring and permanently protecting significant natural areas, waterways, open spaces, working farms and forests, and walking and biking trails through voluntary land conservation techniques. Land is acquired through donation, purchase of land or conservation easements and is protected in perpetuity through our comprehensive land stewardship program.
• The Conservancy is a sponsor member of the Land Trust Alliance (LTA) and has adopted LTA’s Land Trust Standards and Practices.
• The Conservancy was founded in July 2000, is governed by a board of directors and has one staff member and numerous volunteers who contribute on a regular basis.
