Wilson Property

Wilson (S) to 73The Wilson property is a 10.2 acre tract which was donated to the Davidson Lands Conservancy in December of 2013 by the generous property owner, Mr. William W. “Bill” Wilson of Statesville. Located along busy Highway 73 (1.4 miles east of the Mecklenburg/Cabarrus County line), Mr. Wilson’s grandchildren had previously named the property “Pappy’s Place.”  One-third of the property is a wooded, north-facing slope, and the remainder is early-succession, former farmland. The property is located in a rapidly developing area, but will now be conserved in perpetuity. Should the DLC ever decide to sell or lease the property, the land retains a 2-acre buildable envelope near the road frontage for a future property owner, while under a Conservation Easement jointly held by the Land Trust for Central North Carolina and Cabarrus County Soil and Water for the remaining acreage.Wilson woods
