WOW-a visit to the Herpetology Lab

Posted on 03. Feb, 2016 by in WOW Past Events, WOW! Blog

Salamanders, snakes and snapping turtles! WOW and some of our WOW families had another fun visit in Davidson College’s Herpetology Lab January 30th. We got up close to some beautiful animals, watched Howard, the snapping turtle, have a snack and learned a lot about them, where they live and what they like to eat. We’d like to thank Anna Marie, Eli and Brielle, of Davidson College, for arranging our annual trip to this lab.
This event was hosted by the Biology Department at Davidson College. Co-sponsors were World of Wonder, Davidson Lands Conservancy and Woodland Discovery.
We hope to repeat this event next year. If you want to receive information about this event and other WOW events, send an email to [email protected] and ask to have your name and email address added to our contacts.
Looking for more time time with these amazing animals? The Herpetology Lab at Davidson College will be hosting Reptile Day, Saturday, April 9th, 10am to 1pm, in the Blanche Parker Knox Garden between the Watson and Dana Science Complex. For more information about this and other herpetology sites and programs, go to www.bio.davidson.edu/outreach.
