This Friday April 27 is National Arbor Day and on Saturday the WOW team will be at the Davidson Farmer’s Market talking about our Tree Identification Project. Our plan is to purchase tree identification signs to place on selected trees at Lake Davidson Nature Preserve and at Fisher Farm Park. You can also purchase signs to put on trees in your own yard. Look for the WOW table at the market. We’ll have samples of the signs, information about tree identification and an opportunity for you to make a donation toward our project and to buy your own signs.
How many different oaks can you identify? Can you identify a Sweetgum, an American Beech, an Elm, a Tulip Poplar or an Eastern Red Cedar? Help us with our project to learn to recognize these trees and know about their value.
